Dr. Landwehr

A Wisconsin native, Dr. Landwehr studied as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and went on to earn his D.D.S. at the University of Minnesota in 1994.  From there he completed training in two dental specialties. First, he earned an M.S. degree and certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at The Ohio State University in 1997 and then completed specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Michigan in 1999.

Dr. Landwehr returned to Wisconsin in 1999 and has been in private practice since that time.  Though his practice focuses on endodontics, his dual certification in endodontics and oral pathology makes him uniquely qualified to diagnose sources of oral pain.  He has presented case studies and research findings both nationally and internationally.  In addition, he has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and served as an evidence reviewer for the American Dental Association.  He is also Chief of Endodontics for the Meriter Hospital general practice residency program in Madison.

This hands-on seminar will provide an evidence-based review of cutting edge instrumentation techniques with special emphasis on instrument design and mechanical movements. After the establishment of a glide path, the clinician is faced with many options to create the final shape and cleanliness within the root canal system.  A single file reciprocating system will be highlighted with a discussion of case selection to maximize clinical predictability.  Additionally, enhanced irrigation protocols will be explored prior to presenting state of the art obturation techniques.

  • Learn a repeatable plan for the establishment of a glide path in any root canal anatomy
  • Understand how the design features and working characteristics of a single file reciprocating instrumentation system increase clinical efficiency and predictability
  • Maximize clinical success with enhanced irrigation protocols to eliminate bacteria from the root canal system
  • Create a dense and repeatable three-dimensional filling in the most complicated canal anatomies

Participation Portion
Each participant will need to bring 2-3 extracted teeth with the access opening already done for the hands-on portion of this course. Also, if you wear loupes you can bring them.
